My Haircare Glow-Up Routine

How I Saved My Damaged Hair from Bleach and Extensions

After years of bleaching, extensions, and over-styling, my hair was fried. Think: dry ends, breakage, and zero shine. I tried everything until I finally committed to a consistent, damage-repair routine—and the results have been insane.

If you’re trying to rehab your hair back to soft, shiny, dream girl status, here’s exactly what worked for me.

🚿 Wash Day Routine

I try to wash my hair every 2–3 days—it’s the sweet spot for keeping it clean without over-drying it. Stretching the time between washes really helped with breakage and heat damage!

Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate

Use on damp hair once a week before shampooing. This is a game changer—it strengthens and repairs damaged hair from the inside out.

Redken Volume Injection Shampoo

Use every time you wash. Focus only on the roots. Lather well, rinse, and repeat. Avoid the ends to keep them from drying out.

Moroccan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask

When your hair needs some extra love, skip conditioner entirely.
Instead, after rinsing out your shampoo:
✨ Towel dry your hair gently (no rubbing!), then apply the mask directly to the ends while your hair is damp—not soaking. Leave it on for 20 minutes with a shower cap for maximum hydration.

💆🏽‍♀️ Post-Wash Styling

After towel drying, I follow this ritual:

💨 Blowout Routine

    • Start with the Dyson Hairdryer using the smoothing attachment on medium heat

    • Blow dry each section with the Dyson barrel:
        • High heat for 10–15 seconds

        • Follow with a cold shot for 5–10 seconds

        • I actually use a stopwatch to stay consistent—yes, I’m that girl 😌

🌙 Daily Aftercare

    • Apply a bit of hair oil to your ends daily

    • Brush hair morning and night to keep it smooth and tangle-free

    • Use a headband when washing your face and a shower cap when showering to avoid moisture ruining your blowout

💡 Extra Tips

    • I wash my hair every 3–4 days

    • By Day 2, I usually apply a light dry shampoo to refresh the roots

    • The key to healthy, bouncy hair is preserving your blowout = prolong your glow-up 🔥
